Summary
MicroStream is a Windows™ based multi-tasking data-processor
and system controller. Up to 16 channels of independent data
can be processed simultaneously. Hidden background plotting and
storage of raw signals. System control of power valves, pump,
colorimeters, etc. Links to other software spreadsheets, databases
and LIMS.
Introduction
The latest data system from Burkard is the result of over twelve
years experience in interfacing technology and represents the Company's
dedication to be market leaders in the field of automated chemical
analysis. Our aim has been to design a product that is accurate,
reliable and simple to use, yet is powerful enough to provide all
the functions and utilities required by a modern analytical laboratory.
Our latest 32-bit software is written for Microsoft Windows
95/98/Me and NT/2K/Xp, (Windows 3.1 version also available).
This means that data can be shared with other popular Windows™
programs and anyone who is familiar with Windows™ will find it
very easy to use.
Real Time Analysis
Primary data acquisition, graphics, peak detection, calibration
and calculation all take place in the background, so results
are produced immediately upon a peak being detected. Such multi-tasking
is achieved with the use of a microprocessor-based analogue interface
card which fits neatly into a standard expansion slot inside
the computer.
For screen shots and full details view the Microstream
product information sheet.
Special Features
MicroStream is very easy to set up because peaks are captured to
have similar dimensions (height and width), independent of the
channel or analysis speed, so most peak-picking parameters do not
need to be changed from their default values.
MicroStream for Windows™ employs a dynamic time-windowing technique
for peak detection - the coloured time windows are reassuringly
displayed synchronising with peaks on the screen. Both versions
combine channels together in groups, which means that there is
no need to have a separate window for displaying or labeling
each determinand and the screen is less cluttered. In neither
version may the raw analogue data be changed and for security
they are stored separately from the derived peak height data,
which may be edited.
Template Files
MicroStream uses template files to simplify loading analysis methods,
peak picking parameters, sampler table layouts etc., and to speed
up the process of preparing work or data files. Template files
are easy to generate and maintain.
